The Exchange — Terms of Use

The Exchange is the member classifieds marketplace of MarinesConnect, operated by National Marine Corps Business Network, Inc. ("we," "us," or "MarinesConnect"). It is a place for members to buy, sell, and trade with one another. By using The Exchange, you agree to these Terms of Use. Your use is also covered by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use The Exchange.

The Exchange is open to MarinesConnect members in good standing. Your listings are visible to other MarinesConnect members. You are responsible for everything posted from your account, so keep your login secure.

The Exchange is for buying, selling, and trading physical goods and housing — items for sale (personal property, equipment, vehicles, gear), items wanted, and housing (rentals, roommates, short-term stays). Services, jobs, gigs, and business opportunities belong on the MarinesConnect Opportunities board instead, not here.

Keep it legal and keep it clean. Do not post: anything illegal or that encourages breaking the law; stolen goods; weapons, ammunition, or other regulated items unless the listing fully complies with all applicable laws; fraudulent, misleading, or scam listings; adult or sexually explicit content; MLM or network-marketing recruitment (see our MLM Policy); services, jobs, gigs, or business opportunities (use the Opportunities board); and anything that violates our Community Guidelines. Posting and browsing on The Exchange are free. We do not charge listing fees, and we do not process payments between members.

The Exchange is a listing board only. Every transaction is directly between the buyer and the seller. We do not verify listings, inspect items, handle money, or take part in any deal, and we are not responsible for disputes, fraud, or items that are never delivered. Use good judgment: meet in safe places, inspect before you pay, and if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

You agree to post accurate listings, follow all applicable laws, and honor the deals you make. Do not harass other members, spam, run scams, misrepresent who you are, or misuse other members' personal information. Do not use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to collect content or data from The Exchange. In short: do not break the law, and do not do anything that puts MarinesConnect or its members at risk.

You keep ownership of the listings and content you post. By posting, you give us permission to display, host, and share that content as needed to operate and promote The Exchange within MarinesConnect. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to post what you share.

Members can report suspicious, fraudulent, or prohibited listings using the Report function. We may review, re-categorize, remove, or refuse any listing, and suspend or terminate any account, at any time and for any reason, without notice. We do not mediate transactions between members.

The Exchange is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any listing is accurate, and we disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent allowed by law.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, National Marine Corps Business Network, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of The Exchange or from any transaction between members. Because The Exchange is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to one hundred dollars ($100).

You agree to cover and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses that arise from your listings, your transactions, or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms also apply to the MarinesConnect mobile app when it is available, including any use of The Exchange through the app.

The Exchange, MarinesConnect, and their associated names and logos are trademarks of National Marine Corps Business Network, Inc.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date above. If you keep using The Exchange after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California.
